Leavell was keyboardist for the southern rock group the Allman Brothers, a band that is known for outstanding improvisational and jam-style shows.

"My years with the [Allman Brothers Band] were golden ones, and I still consider myself a Brother. I look forward to standing on the podium with Gregg, Dickey, Butch, Jaimo and the others to accept this prestigious recognition," Leavell said on his website upon hearing the news.

Beyond his recognition as a talented and respected musician, Leavell is hugely involved with tree farming, wildlife, and forest management. Chuck and his wife Rose Lane were selected as the STIHL National Outstanding Tree Farmers of the Year in 1999, and their incredible conservation work on Georgia's Charlane Plantation continues to this day.

Congratulations, Chuck, on your well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award!
