As vice president of policy and advocacy for the American Forest Foundation, Michael Reed is instrumental in forming our public policy strategy, and works to build collaborative relationships with both federal and state lawmakers.
Before joining the American Forest Foundation in 2021, Michael served as the chief of staff to Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, J. (D-GA) where he specialized in agriculture and rural development issues. Prior to his affiliation with Congressman Bishop, he served as vice president of marketing for the United Negro College Fund and vice president of government affairs for the American Express Company.
Born and raised in scenic but cold Buffalo, New York, he is a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan. In addition to playing golf, Michael is an avid traveler, gardener and cook, and enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and their faithful pup.
