Meet Cara Dougherty! Cara is another member of the American Forest Foundation's Account Management team. These team-members will help you ever step of the way, and answer all your questions, as you decide if the Family Forest Carbon Program is right for you. Should you qualify for the Family Forest Carbon Program, this team will support you from confirming our program fits your long-term goals, to ensuring the T’s are crossed and I’s dotted so you receive your first incentive payment.
Originally from New Jersey, Cara now lives in Washington, D.C. and was a former analyst at Rose Lake Inc. where she oversaw potential investment compliance with the environmental, social, and governance and resilience-related goals of the firm. She has also served at the National Governors Association as a policy analyst in the areas of energy, infrastructure, and environmental policy, helping states identify solutions to policy issues focused on clean energy, energy resilience and emergency preparedness, transportation electrification, and outdoor recreation. In 2021, Cara graduated from Dickinson College. She is thrilled to now serve as a resource for woodland owners near the quaint college town in Pennsylvania that still holds a special place in her heart, as well as those in Maryland and West Virginia. Outside of work Cara loves spending time running, baking, reading, and discovering new bike trails.
The Family Forest Carbon Program is now enrolling landowners with 30 acres or more in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Vermont, as well as select counties in Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York and Wisconsin. Click here to check your eligibility today.
