Statement: AFF Applauds Confirmation of USDA Officials

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rita Hite, president & CEO of the American Forest Foundation, issued this statement following the Senate’s confirmation of Michael Boren, Richard Fordyce, and Dudley Hoskins to multiple undersecretary positions at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA):
Rita Hite, president & CEO of the American Forest Foundation, issued this statement following the United States Senate vote to confirm Michael Boren to the role of Under Secretary at the United States Department of Agriculture.
"AFF congratulates Under Secretaries Boren, Fordyce, and Hoskins on their confirmation to leadership roles at USDA. These agencies provide critical support to private landowners through technical assistance, financial assistance, grants, and other programming to keep their working forests healthy and productive. We look forward to working with each of these senior leaders to champion unlocking economic opportunities, including expanding access to markets, for the more than 21 million family forest owners that support the health of our lands and economies."
Mr. Boren was confirmed to lead the mission area at USDA with purview over the Forest Service; Mr. Fordyce was confirmed to lead the mission area with purview of the Farm Service Agency and Natural Resources Conservation Service; and Mr. Hoskins was confirmed to lead the mission area with purview of the Agricultural Marketing Service.
