Stacey Johnson

As Executive Vice President of Finance & Operations for the American Forest Foundation, Stacey Johnson oversees financial stewardship and strategy, along with information technology and operational systems, helping ensure AFF has the structure, discipline, and insight needed to support its expanding work with family forest owners across the country. She works closely with the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board committees to strengthen financial transparency, guide strategic investments, and ensure resources are deployed in ways that sustain both mission impact and long-term organizational health.

Stacey brings more than two decades of leadership experience across national nonprofits, education institutions, and cultural organizations, including chief financial officer roles at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, American Federation of Teachers, and Alexandria City Public Schools. She is known for bringing clarity to complex financial environments, strengthening governance and reporting practices, and building operational foundations that enable organizations to scale their impact responsibly. At AFF, she is motivated by the opportunity to engage in work that supports landowners, and advances practical and innovative solutions for climate, communities, and conservation.

Stacey holds an MBA degree from The George Washington University and BA degree from the University of Miami. She currently lives in Northern Virginia and has two children in college. Outside of work, she is a big sports fan, enjoys music, and loves to dance!
